  • Statisticay they are less likely to rape someone, including statutory rape, but it’s always stupid to deal in absolutes. Same is true of mass shootings, domestic violence, etc., it can happen but it’s less likely.

That said, it’s important to believe rape victims, including those who were raped by women. It’s not just the media in that regard, though, and especially when men are the victim-- it’s especially hard for them to speak out. How many viewers who hear of 16 year old boy being raped by their female teacher and go “nice”? It’s certainly a double standard.

  • I heard about this, although the positive news is it’s mostly people who weren’t in the market for an EV to begin with so it doesn’t really impact EV sales or anything. Still hate to see disinformation win, though.

I’m a bit sad to hear Congress is more or less outlawing Chinese cars here, though. Affordable EVs are far and few between and it really feels like the national security rational they’re giving thinly hides the real reason of preventing competition for US car makers, as if they even planned on making a decent EV.

  • From what reporting I’ve heard, it’s an informal poll. If I had to guess, probably some google form that was emailed out to members. Given the leadership of the union spoke at RNC and praised Trump, I wouldn’t read too much into it.

That said, still very possible uneducated, mostly male members support Trump for personal reasons, and honestly I don’t know how much that should matter. The endorsement actually should reflect whatever candidate has the unions interest in mind, which is why most other unions are supporting the obvious, pro-union candidate.

I wish more people knew what Run… did, but the Ctrl + v should be a little more obvious. We need to teach more computer literacy if you don’t immediately know that means you’re copying text to something.

Especially on a shady site, mind you. But then again, this could be on a phishing email, so that’s not always the case I guess. (I got one from “STARBUCKS” that Gmail didn’t catch, their spam filter has been shit lately, blocking my work emails but letting through a lot of sus stuff).

  • People are extremely dumb, and I think it’s closer to third grade level that’s recommended. They’ve been gutting education since at least Reagan and this is the inevitable result.

The strangest thing is, Harris isn’t even ambiguous in prioritizing reducing costs and helping small businesses with financial assistance. People just tuned out by then on the debate, that was closer to the half way point. When I lecture, I have to take breaks for discussion after 15 minutes because even well meaning people lose focus after that time. It’s actually well researched pedagogy, but a debate isn’t a lecture and there’s no way they thought about it (aside from maybe throwing to commercial, haha).

  • I feel like when Harris said that Putin would be sitting in Kyiv, Trump didn’t understand. “Why would he be in Kyiv, Putin would be at home, happier of course” because he’s taking it literally like a fucking idiot.

And yes, Trump, of course Putin would be happier with you in charge when he invaded. The Biden administration gave crucial Intel in the months leading up to the invasion and military support. Harris 100% deserves props for being involved in that.
