WoW jumped the shark 2-3 expansions ago but now that Kotick is gone, it’s been coming back. The devs are actually allowed to work on things they and the players want.
I was a hater but I actually love the current expansion and am looking forward to this. They stole skyriding from Guild Wars and we’ve been asking them to keep going - a ground mount upgrade to make it worthwhile over flying sounds awesome to me.
I’ve never played this but I want to buy it now just to support the devs

I’m just gonna copy and paste my comment from the other big thread about this but I want to ask: why are you lying with the post title? It’s $90, not $132.
TLDR: this is obtainable through in-game currency for significantly less than the price of the original brutosaur mount. Most long time players can afford it and I’d imagine most people who bought it did so this way.
Ok so I cackled when I saw the price on this thing but the more I thought about it, the less shitty it is. FWIW I am not a WoW lifer or Blizzard apologist. I got talked into Classic for a year then played a month or two of each expansion since before quitting but I know the background of the story. It looks way worse from an outsider perspective.
You could buy the original auction house mount for 5 million gold back in the day. It stopped being available regularly and now it’s available occasionally in the “black market auction house” and it always sells for the maximum bid.
To combat Chinese gold farmers, Blizzard started selling gold in a bit of a roundabout way. For $20, you can buy a WoW token to sell on the auction house. This token can be purchased by a player and traded for 1 month of game time. Some players dont pay a dime to play - gold is not hard to acquire.
When this new mount came out, WoW tokens were worth about 200k gold. You’d need to exchange them for 5 tokens to get this mount. 1/5 of the original price.
Now tokens are worth 330k. 1.65m gold. STILL significantly cheaper than it was originally.
Tokens will need to rise to triple in price to match the original cost which will still be a tiny fraction of what it cost a month ago.
By far the shittiest thing about this - and I think the only real reason to complain - is that the rising value of the token hurts players who pay for the subscription purely with gold as it adds a few hours to their “working” time in game. For context, watching TV and semi-afk farming will get you like 50k/hour. You can earn way, way more if you’ve leveled up a profession.
The other (not so bad) thing I don’t like about it is that…I hate those mounts. They’re HUGE and people just AFK on them blocking NPCs I want to talk to.
Turn off your computer, move to a cave in the mountains, and abandon society.
A bit extreme but there is nothing you can do to stop your messages from appearing on Windows machines except not sending them to anyone who might view them on Windows machines…which will definitely be nearly impossible in 2024
I’m almost entirely mouse/keyboard but some games are just better with controllers…Rocket League, MGS, Yakuza…couldn’t imagine enjoying them without it.

2 cop cars rolled up on us as we loaded the broken TV into our company-branded van in our company-branded shirts. Thankfully the truth of the situation was obvious. The woman who called said she saw two black guys climb the 3 story building and break in through the window on the roof deck…but I had the security logs showing I unlocked their door using their home automation controller. Not to mention that my coworker was a short, round guy. The man can barely climb a ladder, let alone scale a building.
Like I said, they were cool about it but it still wasted half an hour of our day. My coworker said he knew exactly who called…a little old white woman across the street he spotted mean mugging us.
I used to play with a guy who was awesome with a mouse in his right hand and a controller in his left. Pretty cool setup. I tried it out and it wasn’t for me
I thought discord streaming was so dumb until I was trying to reach my friend something in a game. Now we use it a couple times per month, it’s great. I hate that I like Discord lol

I knew I’d like it as soon as it was announced, just not for the same reason I thought (no damaged USB ports). What I really love is not having wires everywhere that get caught on this

I think it’s more of an evolution in the way we use computers than a problem. The original Office UI was made during a time of single monitor dominance and now dual monitors is the standard for companies.
My most-used applications for work at AutoCAD and Excel and it’s very rare I DON’T have them maximized. They both have ribbons but even if they didn’t, I can’t imagine using them in a small window. Really the only program I don’t run full screen is Notepad
I have all the stuff I use regularly on the first ribbon. I also run excel with the formula bar 3-lines tall. Common keyboard shortcuts were removed so there’s very little unused clutter
At work I use a 1920x1200 display and have never once thought “ugh I wish I could see 4 more rows” - but if I did, I’d just collapse the ribbon…
Yeah it’s not flawless by any means but they have been receptive to fan “demands” and are being uncharacteristically transparent about it. Like making everything cross-faction is a huge project and they were upfront about the initial jankiness and the inevitable slow rollout. Right now the only things that haven’t been made cross-faction/realm are LFG/LFR and mail.
You can really feel that Kotick is gone and that the devs are actually excited to work on stuff. It’s very telling that so many old players who swore it off are back for TWW and loving it - including my friend who quit for FF14.
My only real gripes with the game are with the engine and I imagine they’re a lot harder to fix…but I would be smitten if shit like trees and awnings would stop blocking my camera in dungeons. And if ground effects didn’t clip into the terrain.
