Yeah kinda my take.
I would’ve been fine with RDR2 being a bit shorter, frankly, I was kinda dragging along by the end.

That’s interesting, I really like the fishy taste. If it’s overpowering it can be unpleasant, but in reasonably amounts it’s tasty.
That’s irrelevant. You can’t patent fantasy creatures. That’s a copyright issue. If they were suing for copyright infringement I might think they had a point, but they’re not.
(this is an expensive hobby just FYI)
Yeah custom keyboards get absurdly expensive very quickly.
then they made it free and introduced DLCs. Such a slap in the face.
The part that got me is that they made it free and reset my light level.
Suddenly I was on the same light level as people that had just started playing. The only difference between us being that I had some exotics.
Going F2P was shitty from my perspective, but going F2P and removing all the content I’d paid for already… yikes.
What absolutely killed it for me is when they started including important story information in battlepasses. I stopped playing for awhile, and then started doing a new expansion only to find out that my light had been reset, half my favorite guns were literally useless, and on top of all of that I couldn’t really follow the plot anymore because they had introduced an entirely new hub area I’d never seen, and several new characters that they just expected me to know.
What ‘whirlwind of changes’ has happened to Destiny 2?
Maybe I’ll actually consider playing it again if it’s major enough.
I doubt it, just from this article, because most of my issues were with the monetization and ‘running destiny 2 like a business’ doesn’t make me expect they’ll fix my issues with it lol
I don’t really think it’s ever been a Pokemon knockoff in anything but the monster designs. And they’re not going to change all of those, so… it’s just as a much a Pokemon knockoff as it’s always been.
Yeah, I don’t like Linus all that much but I do enjoy LTT’s content overall. He tends to drastically and publicly overreact to literally any criticism, and then the rest of the team gets involved and he walks it back. Whether they legitimately change his mind or just convince him he’s gotta look like he’s changed his mind I have no clue.
My favorite instances of Linus are when he’s an absolute idiot on the WAN show and we just get to see Luke’s reaction live. The hard-r thing was absolutely hilarious.
In 2022 he tweeted this.
That might be what you’re remembering, but he’s definitely addressed his views on piracy during the WAN show several times as well.
Edit: someone else posted the full context elsewhere in the thread. I’d link to that comment, but idk how on lemmy so here: https://archive.ph/VavFc
No. The owner of the media has already been paid in both of those scenarios. It makes zero difference to them whether you’re watching the ads.
Adblocking, on the other hand, is actively hurting the owner of the media because they get paid based on how many ads they can serve. If you block the ad, it isn’t served, and they don’t get paid.
Personally, I definitely think it’s piracy. I also still do it.
I actually like it a lot ngl.
From the side it looks like the bastard son of a Frogfoot, the backside looks like they stole the tail rudders from an F-18 and strapped them on something F-14 adjacent.
The front is very A-10, just with the engines in a different orientation.
Installed, I love all the themes! Thanks!
From my understanding, this was extremely overblown. They apparently have a pretty standard privacy policy, and the concerning parts only applied where they legally had to- like China.
Pirate Software has a whole video where he goes through their privacy policy and talks about it. Personally, I trust that more than I trust Steam reviews and randoms on social media.
Frankly, I just kind of assume all Chinese games/devs are going to have privacy concerns and that disregarding your privacy is a requirement for engaging with them.
I wouldn’t consider it worthwhile if I didn’t have an Xbox Series S though. If my main gaming device was a PC then I’d stick to being patient and waiting for sales.
Why?
I do the same thing you do, just on PC. What makes PC different, to you?
I remember in school people would say something loudly- neck check? or redneck check? I’m really not sure- and then slap you on the back of the neck. The assumption was that if you had a sunburned neck it’d hurt. I can’t remember why the hell it was done, just that it was.
I think nothing inside a full priced video game should cost real money.
There’s plenty of examples of F2P games that have reasonable monetization in the form of mtx.
Is it out now? Are you sure lol
Oh, nevermind. You actually linked the search. I just misunderstood lmao. I wasn’t trying to prank you.
Yeah, sure. I’m not saying the epilogue was too long, just the game overall.
Consider it: did they really need every scene in the game? Are you honestly gonna tell me that every. single. mission. was plot critical or would’ve made the game lesser in any significant way?
There was a lot they could’ve trimmed down or removed.
Which, to clarify, it’s not like I think the length is a great crime or significantly detracts from the game. I just feel like it would’ve been better if it was a bit shorter. I’m not trying to compare it to something like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey where it’s a 100+ hour game and 70hrs of it is narratively irrelevant.
