Valid. Spent entirely too much on my 16TB setup in RAID 1 (total of 32TB drives) and I’ve got it half full already.

RAID1 is cheap. It’s not a fool proof solution but has saved my Plex library a couple times over the years.

Cloud infrastructure is great for this. You don’t need your own data center when you can just rent space on a farm. As a bonus, it’s less work for the IT team who no longer have to deal with server hardware upkeep.

The article says that the cause is complex. Corporate profits are part of it, but also increased wages across the supply chain, and strong demand (more people eating at home instead of eating out) vs lower supply (egg shortages, for example). I saw another article suggesting that climate change was also harshly impacting the supply chain, but it didn’t list a solid source.

Spot on for me in the Midwest. My range and AC are electric, heating is a boiler. So it’s super cheap in Winter and rough in Summer.

I pay thousands per year in school taxes and the vast majority goes to school administrators making 6 figures. We can’t just toss more money at schools to fix this - we need legislation stating how the money is used. The money needs to go to the kids and teachers instead of clueless rich people.

I can’t imagine a scenario where a person who needs to work on a computer will not benefit by typing quickly and accurately.
