FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed during a marathon testimony on Wednesday that investigators still do not know if former President Donald Trump was grazed by a bullet or a piece of shrapnel during his attempted assassination.

Twice during the hours-long session, Wray told lawmakers that the FBI was still working to determine what exactly struck the former president on his right ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. “My understanding is that either it [a bullet] or some shrapnel is what grazed his ear,” Wray told Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-CA).

I don’t understand why this is news worthy. Like even if they prove it wasn’t a bullet, what does this change?

Aye, it doesn’t really feel relevant. He was injured as a result of gunfire.

You are right. It is a sensationalist headline that people will click on (or not click on and use to justify their existing view/conspiracy theory).

Because he and many lazy outlets are reporting he was definitely shot or hit by a bullet.

This is newsworthy because it’s clarifying a misconception that is going around and is being amplified by the trump team because it makes him seem more “badass” and “hard to kill”.
